West Minis
West of Scotland are delighted to offer rugby to all age groups from pre-school through our Wee Westies programme through every age group at Primary building the rugby basics through tailored training, match play and fun. Our ethos at West is equal time for every player, with boys and girls getting as much exposure to rugby as possible.
Lead by PVG’d volunteer coaches and supported by our Development Management Team children learn not only the skills associated with developing as a rugby player, but learn to grow in confidence, work as a team and ultimately we hope leave as better people.
Wee Westies focus on fun and feature games to build the foundation skills of catching, throwing and running. From P1 – P3 non-contact rugby is introduced through fun drills and competitive non-contact games against other clubs. From P4 up, contact rugby is introduced along side the SRU pathway for introducing other skills you may see on a rugby pitch.
