Robert scores winning try for Scotland.
Robert Harley finally got his chance for Scotland in the game against Samoa and made it a dramatic start by scoring the winning try.
Robert honed his rugby skills through the mini and midi sections at West of Scotland FC, the first of the many Internationalists from West to have come right through the successful Junior section at the club. He went on to play 1st XV at West and his obvious talent also gained him places in a number of age group Scotland teams.
He finally gained a professional contract at Glasgow Warriors and for a short time captained their squad. His success at the Warriors brought him to the attention of the Scotland manager and he has been part of the reserve squad for a number of Scotland games.
He finally got his chance on the substitute's bench for the game against Samoa and earned his first cap during the second half. In a dramatic finish deep into injury time, with Scotland trailing by 6 points, Robert grabbed his chance and dived over for the try just beside the posts. Gregg Laidlaw converted to give Scotland the win.
All at West congratulate Robert for his fantastic achievement.
