New Head Coach Appointed

Coaches Keith Robertson and George Breckenridge
We are pleased to announce that Keith Robertson has joined the coaching team at West and has been appointed Head Coach with George Breckenridge remaining with us as Assistant Coach.  Keith has been Head Coach at Hillhead/Jordanhill where he has taken them as P3 champions to P2 next season.
Keith comes to West with impressive qualifications as a coach and is well respected in rugby coaching circles.  He will oversee the whole coaching structure at the senior club and is looking forward to the many challenges that the position presents.

John Cameron the President of West responded to news by saying  "I am pleased that Keith has accepted our offer to become the Head Coach at West of Scotland and assure him of a very warm welcome.  He comes with a record of significant coaching achievements in Premier 3 and we look forward to him bringing his undoubted talents to the highly competitive arena of Premier 1".

Former West stalwart Gordon Bulloch was equally pleased, commenting ... "This is a great appointment for West who are looking to build on the success of recent seasons. Keith is an exciting young coach with ambitious goals and we feel he has the right character to take West forward".

Keith himself said  "I am delighted to be taking on the role of Head Coach at West Of Scotland FC and look forward to the challenge of Premier 1"
Even before officially taking up his duties Keith has shown he has the mettle for the job by agreeing to put in an appearance at the annual Player's Dinner on Friday evening.     A "Baptism of Fire" indeed!
